CAW 114 members, working along with otherunion members, at the poverty kitchen, March 8th.2009 from 11:00am to2:00pm., handing out hot soup, buns, floor mats, fruit,juice,water, coffee,socks and our very own CAW114 toques. It was a very cold day -20 with thewind. All the volunteers really got a chill feeling as to how the homelesspeople live and how cold they can get. There were lots of homeless peoplethat came over to the kitchen for hot soup, to warm them up, and to getsomething to sleep on, to insulate them somewhat from the cold ground. Wehanded out tons of socks and 25 of the CAW114 toques. As soon as they received these items, they put them on right away to warm up the top oftheir head, ears and feet.This was a very successful event. Later that evening I saw a couple of homeless guys walking by, with the toques on. It really shows that CAW114 docare!Thanks Ann
